Habitat for Humanity 2018 Faith Build

Picture
SS Philip & James will once again participate in the Faith Build for Habitat for Humanity.  The start date for this years project is August 11, 2018.  The build will be at 830 Hall Court SE, Massillon.  If you would like to participate in this very worthwhile project, please contact Pete Kropp at pkkropp@hotmail.com for registration information.  If you are unable to participate physically, we will be accepting donations toward our $5,000 participation goal.

Making progress...pictured is the crew from SS. Philip & James Parish at the new home site for the Barnett family from last Saturday, August 25th volunteer work day.

The subfloor for the entire house was glued and nailed, and a little site material rearrangement was completed.

Thank you to our parishioners for participating.

Habitat for Humanity Update

This is a picture of Paul and Neva's new Habitat house, which our parish contributed, both funds and volunteers hours to complete. Our last work day on Saturday, December 2nd, was the final cleaning and incidental painting and installation of closet shelving, etc.

Paul and Neva officially take possession of the house on Friday, December 22nd, after two years of education and what is called "sweat equity", which is working on other habitat houses and their own house. We were part of a ten-church effort, both in volunteering and in funding.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the parishioners of our parish who helped in any way to make this dream come true for Paul & Neva!
