Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

We have much to be thankful for at Saints Philip & James Church. Our parish
community has a rich history of worship, prayer, evangelization, and service for
over 158 years. Our campus is a welcoming place where we bring together our
life and our faith. We live out our call to discipleship here through celebration of
the Mass and the sacraments, engaging in our parish school and faith formation
programs as well as volunteering in our diverse ministries. It is such a blessing to be
your pastor and witness each day how our community of missionary disciples lives
out the Church’s mission.
Our buildings provide us protection, lighting, heat, seating, and space to live our
faith in community. The maintenance of our facilities is carried out with much care,
as they enhance our experiences and bring us closer to God as we share the Gospel.
However, you may have noticed that over the past several years the buildings on our
campus have begun to show wear with use over time, from deteriorating roofs on
the rectory, social hall and the school, to several AC units that are nearing the end of
their life.
For these reasons, after thorough discernment and consultation, we are embarking on a capital campaign to raise $500,000, that will allow us to be more responsive to our parish needs and mission.
The enclosed brochure shares the plans to ensure that we raise the funds necessary to maintain God’s house and continue to grow God’s Kingdom here at Saints Philip & James Church. Whether you are new to Saints Philip & James Church, or are a long-time parishioner, I ask you to prayerfully reflect on how you have been blessed by this parish. I invite you to prayerfully consider how you are able to contribute your financial gifts to this crucial effort for our parish and join with me in praying for the success of our campaign. Sacrificial giving
is an expression of our faith and a way to put our faith into action.
The Suggested Gift Chart details pledges ranging from $1,620 to $100,000, payable over three years. That is as little as $1.50 dollar per day over 36 months. This wide range of gift opportunities makes it possible for virtually every family to take part in the program.
Time will be set aside during all Masses on the weekend of January 24th and 25th for the faithful Saints Philip & James Church to make your pledge. Please bring your completed card, or be prepared to complete a pledge card at Mass.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration and generous support for our parish as we look to the future with hope.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Very Rev. John E. Sheridan, JCL, VF
